Series synopsis: Tara awakens in a regeneration tube with no recollection of who she is and where she comes from. The insidious truth behind Tara’s amnesia is, she has a secret that makes her worth hunting–and it’s far more terrible than anyone could have ever imagined.
Our heroine Tara is what is known in this far-flung future as a “Wirehead”: a refugee of unknown origin who has been surgically altered and implanted so as to be under complete control of their masters. Only Major Shola seems to have an idea of who Tara might be and is relentless in her investigation to find out. Confederation Agents become involved who claim to have some information about Tara’s shadowy past, but Major Shola’s dogged determination to hold Tara in custody indefinitely, keep “Classified” information under wraps, and withhold the results of their investigation regarding her case from coming to the surface, pushes Tara to find out on her own. When Tara takes it on herself to discover the truth, what she finds has her on the run again. This begins a whole new journey for her as the more she learns, the worse it gets. The more Tara learns, the more she realizes she may not be one of the good guys after all.
Tara is accused of crimes of enormous magnitude–that she is instrumental behind the holocaust of her own homeworld. Tara really can’t remember doing this, even though she’s been shown footage–what should she do? Can Tara really let herself fall in love with Dr. Adrian Rausch knowing there is a possibility that the accusations are true? How do you find yourself– when you don’t know WHO you really are?
