WHEN A DEVIANT MIND RETURNS:
There’s some more backstory with Doc, Adrian and Tara that we’ll be getting into with A Deviant Mind #3. It was mentioned a few pages back in the present issue when Shola was telling the Senator that Doctor Koushir attempted several surgeries to remove the circuitry that seemed to be holding Tara hostage. The surgeries were only partially unsuccessful: Doctor Koushir learned the hard way how deeply embedded Tara’s cerebral cortex truly was and during one of those procedures they nearly lost her on the operating table.
Nonetheless, he was able to disconnect many of the restraints and everyone was pleased to note Tara’s telepathic abilities returned without the crippling pain. Sadly, her memories did not. During that near- disaster surgery where they nearly lost Tara, something happened that installed her with a fatal flaw that makes her successful escape a very dangerous move.
