The sci-fi series resumes on the Alpha Centauri outpost as our charitable cast of characters rallies around the startling revelation that Tara has stolen Dr. Rausch’s uniform and I.D. and escaped!Repercussions abound: Adrian gets a severe dressing-down from Major Shola who knows in her heart that the young doctor disobeyed orders regarding our lost telepath and “got involved”. Doctor Koushir is also alarmed by Tara’s escape, for despite her quest for the truth, without knowing who she is and what she’s getting into, she might not long survive. Even as a merchant ship makes its way unwillingly to Attalla 5 to find some answers, the medical team of Alpha Centauri outpost resolves to make every effort to locate Tara. But wait–! What happened to A.G.N.E.S.?
A Deviant Mind #4: CODE RED!
Kohl, a bounty hunter enroute to Alpha Centauri sees Tara’s wanted poster when he arrives at the spaceport. On Sirius, Tayge and Lucky make planetfall to recover the supplies they lost after Dhalak’s men lost everything to Tara’s poker prowess.
Tara is separated from the crew and comes face to face with the bounty hunter, who has a personal stake in doing her in for good! To make things worse, another hunter shows up to challenge Kohl for the bounty, and it’s clear Tara has run out of options!

A cold stone slab, a dungeon, a beautiful warden and a diabolical mastermind–Tara wakes to the craziest situation this side of hell, as it’s clear her captors are not playing with a full deck!!CHESS and CHECKMATE outline their plans for Tara and give her some disturbing clues to what’s going on, and Tara learns that Prym (mentioned in A Deviant Mind #1) is on her way to collect her!!

A Deviant Mind #6: DreamTime!
Marooned on an unknown planet, Tara finds herself at the mercy of some of its inhabitants! With no translators at hand, the challenge to communicate is almost as overwhelming as the need to survive and make her way back to Alpha Centauri!
Back on Alpha Base, the crew has a handful of folks in custody as they try to figure out where to go next in their mission to track Tara down.
Shola, Nanda and Sarissa try to keep Adrian from having a breakdown as Villam and Peter report once again that they’ve retrieved a confed ship… with Tara’s old headband and waist sash sitting inside of it.
A Deviant Mind #7: The Princess
Tara rescues a girl, sweeps her off her feet…and later wishes she could sweep her under the rug! When Tara meets Najimi, a slave at a desert kiosk, it becomes painfully clear the girl doesn’t like her lot and wants out. Tara and the stressed kiosk owners strike a deal, and Tara uses the credit card Lucky set up for her–to buy the girl! Tara soon realizes the purchase was a very bad bargain. The girl, over-privileged on her own world, is spiteful and foul-tempered. Tara is tested to the limits of her patience. Their only hope is to continue the trek to the next city…if Tara doesn’t kill Najimi first.
A Deviant Mind #8: Heart of the Matter
In the technological age, news travels fast! Sometimes, too fast–! News of a daring rescue spreads like wildfire once the crew returns to Alpha Centauri with Tara and Najimi in custody. Now Shola has no choice but to find the truth about Tara before things get really out of hand.
Resuming her relationship with Adrian won’t be a piece of cake, either, since Tara is back in Imperial custody and up to her schedule book in debriefings.
Meanwhile, Tayge and Lucky head back to Dhalak’s casino to face another unresolved issue, and are deep in trouble once again as everyone tries to find…the heart of the matter.
