About the Comic
In the 1980 version of this series, our heroine Tara is what is known in this far-flung future as a “Wirehead”: a refugee of unknown origin who has been surgically altered and implanted so as to be under complete control of their masters.
But I’m getting a little ahead of myself. A comparable moment in time might compare the premise of this series to events in the last century of our history, 1939–a time when the world was aware that horrible things were taking place in the global arena, but preferred to turn a blind eye to it…until it was almost too late.
The opening pages of this series take place in a medical outpost orbiting the fourth planet in the star system Alpha Centauri. The series already takes a new twist, as none of these characters has ever heard of the planet Earth, or the Sol system. 20th and 21st Century Earth slang as a consequence doesn’t exist in this series unless I happen to slip up.
Add to this the fact that Alpha Centauri is a triple solar system (Proxima Centauri is further out, looking more like a distant star), so there will be some magnificent double sunsets on occasion.
About the Cast
Tara (Also known as T.A.R.A.) is rescued and taken into Imperial custody and a hunt begins to find out who she was and what is going on. Imperial Agents become involved who claim to have some idea of what is afoot, but the dogged determination to keep “Classified” information from coming to the surface pushes Tara to find out on her own. The more Tara learns, the more she realizes she may not be one of the good guys after all.
