Here’s a pic of my sweetie and I enjoying Christmas Eve at the in-laws. We celebrate the German way, since my darling’s half-German, so Heilig Abend (Holy Evening) is the high point of the holiday. In this photo we’re reading short stories or poems from those little Celebrations books they publish for various holidays.
Darling is having an enormous laugh because our son had just read a tear-jerking, five Kleenex poem about a lost soldier at Christmas, and since he’s off to Afghanistan in the coming year, I was having to read my story in the voice of Aunt Bea Taylor from the Andy Griffith Show to keep my decorum up.
How was YOUR holiday? How did you celebrate it, who did you spend it with? No matter what your race, or religion or otherwise, I think this is one day of the year we try to put all our differences aside and communicate to one another the same message.
Best to you and yours, and may 2010 be a wonderful year full of love and miracles!
Sticking something a little different up there…am up to my ears in gift wrap and bows right now but will be back on Christmas Eve with the two pages I’m supposed to have done this week! Happy Merry Everything! XD
