That surely reminds me of “First, they came for xxx, but I didn’t care, because I wasn’t one of them. Then, they came for yyy, but again I didn’t bother, as I wasn’t one of them. And finally they came for me, and there was nobody left to help me.” Sorry, I’m quoting from memory (hectic day, today), but that’s the gist of it.
And the plot thickens! I like this story of Sappho’s development. If she had stayed the way she was, I don’t think she would have been as interesting a character. Just my two cents. ^^
Really like the composition of the panels here. The decorations on the plate and wine pitcher remind me of those I’ve seen in the Athens museum on top of the Acropolis.
