FanArt
I’ve had a few pieces of fanart over the years. My first one was a handmade card from Indonesia. I still chuckle when I look at it. Still have it; I’ll scan it and put it up here soon.
9/16/10: Here’s a beautiful piece of art from my great friend Kate Fazekas, the artist of Geminni, who did this vignette of Dika, Timas and Niobe for me.
I’ve been told the original is on its way to me, which will be framed and hanging up in my studio very shortly. I love Kate’s work! She’s doing commissions through the end of the year, so be sure to visit her here if you’d like some awesome work.
More recent fanart from last year. I have two big fans who love my work: Kate Fazekas, the artist of Geminni, who in this piece clearly shows more than a passing love for Dika;
and Roy Duncan, creator of The Villain Next Door, who is an awesome talent in his own right and God knows you never know how he’s going to immortalize you.
Ah, yes, that Baklava joke. After last year’s Drunk Duck Awards, Roy was a little pissed that Dr. Argon hadn’t won Best Villain, so he set out to do his villainous best to reap his righteous vengeance. Dr. Argon is waiting in the audience to receive his award, when he is tranqued by the Drunk Duck and his goons, overdosed, and tossed into a dumpster with his cohorts, Jack and Bones. Of course Argon’s Nanites kick in and he revives, and with his time travel gear in hand they set out to go back in time and kick some ass.
And in one of the opening pages, we have here Dika from House of the Muses and Kaley from Geminni coming out of the ladies’ bathroom:
The whole sequence is totally worth reading. Click on the image for the ride of your life. But if you just want to see the Dika/Kaley piece, it’s here. And oh yes, it did spawn months of Baklava jokes. The euphemism had barely run its course before someone else found a way to revive it.
And speaking of immortalizing people: Here’s this piece Roy did of me around the first of the year. Brace yourselves.
Know that I blame my dad for that chin.
If you’ve got some fanart of your own for me, just drop me a line!
Augh–Roy Duncan strikes again!
